Four Baby Ravens Relocated

A mated pair built their nest in an active gravel pit inside the rock crusher. I got a call, so went down to move the nest in hopes of the parents being okay with a nearby location.

Came back just before sunset and the parents were with them! As the saying goes, wild is best. Would have been fun raising them, but I’m not a raven.

Check out all the deer hair in the nest!

Bob Sawyer, one of the pit guys, passing the rehydrated and full-bellied nestlings up to me. I put their nest in a plastic farm crate and will tie it up high in a nearby pine for the parents to discover when their young wake up and beg again.
