I think I may have found Mrs. And Mr. Poe’s nest that was used the past two seasons. Been searching for A couple years since the old tree was cut during a logging job. They have bad luck with that and move often. If this is it, there may be a problem though…
Here at the base, you can see its ‘sister tree’ was recently cut. The loggers probably left the other one to grow since it was straight and solid, but they cut too deep into the other one by mistake. A feller-buncher is harder to control this way than a chainsaw, I imagine. Looks a bit precarious, but time will tell. I’ll head back at nesting time to see what’s up.
